Horsemanship Level II continues to apply the skills and knowledge acquired in Level I.  After a short review of the Level I topics, students will learn how to longe a horse.

Longeing is a valuable skill that is essential to every rider and has many uses, some of which are:

  • exercising a fresh, or too energetic horse, before riding
  • schooling a horse to voice commands
  • teaching the horse to walk, trot, canter and halt by using subtle body motions
  • longeing a rider to improve position and balance
  • starting a young horse

In addition to these benefits, we will use longeing to continue to improve and expand your knowledge of horse psychology and behaviour and how to communicate your commands to the horse through your body language.

Horsemanship Level 1 is a prerequisite to Horsemanship Level 2.

Minimum age 9 yrs.

Students must have gloves and junior handlers must wear riding hard hats.

Space is very limited in this course, so register now to avoid disappointment.
