Courses – Longeing, Driving & Horsemanship

Introduction to Longeing - Level 1
Sunday, January 25th - 10am to 2pm

future, please let me know. If there is sufficient
interest, I will offer it a second time.

An
introduction to longeing. By the end of the day,
students will be able to longe a well-mannered school
horse at the walk and trot in both directions. Students
will also gain knowledge and experience in the correct
handling of the horse in hand. Knowledge of correct
equipment and safety precautions will be discussed.
Gloves are required. Open to participants from 10 years
of age to adults. Some experience with horses helpful,
but not essential.

Introduction to Driving Miniature Horses Sunday, February 8th - 10am to 2pm

Driving and handling Miniature Horses is a
lot of fun! This 4-hour course includes
instruction on how to harness and hitch the
horse to the cart and the basics of
driving. Lots of hands on experience. Each
participant will get an opportunity to drive
the minis. Our minis are well schooled and
“bombproof”. Open to participants from 10
years of age to adults. No previous driving
experience necessary. Hard hats and gloves
required. |

Introduction to Horsemanship

A great
way to refresh your riding and horse
handling skills or as an
introduction to the world of
horses. Participants will receive
hands on experience on grooming,
tacking up and handling the horse on
the ground, building up to leading
the horse through a simple obstacle
course. Miniature Horses are
available for the non-riding portion
of the clinic. Participants will
receive instruction while mounted at
the walk and at the trot, depending
upon the rider’s level of
experience. Open to riders from 10
yrs of age to adults. Beginners
welcome. Riding hard hats and boots
are required. |
