2012
Summer Camps |
Our Summer Riding Camps
offer fun and instruction for every level of rider from
beginner to experienced hunter, hack and
dressage riders. Kathy Harrison has over 30 years of experience
instructing
all levels of riders. Our show quality school horses are
highly trained
and well behaved in the ring and on the trails. All
beginner riders are paired with a helper while riding or
handling the horses to ensure they receive maximum
attention and assistance. Experienced riders are
given instruction based on their level of knowledge and
ability, and are encouraged to develop to their full
potential. We offer two very unique activities -
Miniature Horse Driving and Trail Rides through
picturesque Horth Hill Park. One full day is
devoted to trail riding. Students ride every day
for a minimum of one hour of instruction. In
addition to riding instruction, students receive
instruction on the all-important area of ground work as
is outlined in our
Horsemanship Level 1 course.

and they get extensive practical experience applying

- obtain tools to develop a
deeper mutual trust, understanding, and respect with
horses

horses are "saying" to you

horses what you want from them

pressure and release techniques
- improve their confidence in
being around and riding horses
-
Horse
themed games designed to teach students about horse
care and stable management.
-
A horse
show is held during the last day of camp with
ribbons and prizes for all. Friends and family
are welcome to attend.
Kathy
Harrison, our Head Instructor, will be assisted by an
Assistant Instructor and several experienced helpers to
ensure all participants get plenty of individual
attention. As safety is an important consideration, riders with less experience are led on the trails by
